Why Creating Guides Can Save You Tons of Time
Hey Friends,
Let’s talk about creating guides! If you are not doing this for your business you're missing out. Creating guides will answer questions before they're asked and save you SOOO much time emailing back and forth with clients. Guides can come in several different forms. It can be an email link that you send to clients or it can be a blog post that you refer them to. Either way a guide is just one place that you can send clients to that provides them with a ton of information and answers all of their questions. Let’s go over my most commonly used guides.
What to Expect When Booking Guide
When I get an inquiry I send out my What to Expect When Booking guide and which goes over everything. It’s going to answer questions about pricing, deposits, online galleries, my turn around rate, how to print their images, printing costs, how to tag me on social media, what the best time of day is for our session, travel cost if needed, and filter use. So when I get an inquiry the first thing I do is send my potential client this guide which is going to answer all those questions before my client ask them. This saves me so much time and makes things even easier for my clients.
Location List Guide
My next favorite guide I always send out is my Location List. I have a whole guide with all of my favorite locations that clients can choose from, because nine times out of ten they're not going to have a location in mind and I'm going to have to come up with one for them. So… why not send them a list of possible locations before they even ask .
Guide Possibilities
Here are a few guides that you could make for your clients to help yourself be more efficient. You can create a location list, a what to wear guide, or what to expect when booking guide, maybe a how to be prepared for a senior portrait. You can niche down these guides so they are helpful for you. For example, if you are a newborn photographer you could have a guide on what to bring and how to be prepared.
How to Create a Guide
The way I create guides is by using Flodesk. If you have not bought Flodesk it is an amazing email marketing system. You can create the most beautiful emails either from scratch or by using its gorgeous templates. So after I create this gorgeous guide I will copy and paste the link to it into a Honeybook email template. Honeybook is a client relations website that allows me to save email templates so that I don’t have to write out my emails repeatedly.
Creating Value for Your Clients
By creating these guides you're going to be solving client problems before they even arise. By doing this you are adding value which makes clients feel taken care of. When clients feel taken care of by you that breeds loyalty. So, don't be afraid to repurpose some of this content into blogs and social media posts. The more you talk about this information the more people are going to see it and a good client experience always keeps them happy and coming back for more. So friends, make sure that you create those guides because I promise you it will level up your business and your client relations!
